A CALL TO ACTION

⛔️⛔️⛔️This isn’t a call out! This is a call for help! This is a call to action!

I do want to thank Tehmi Chassion for responding. After further research it’s my duty to seek higher powers help on behalf of Mr. Dwight David Celestine. For the record this is about a man constitutional rights being violated. Not the alleged crime because the DNA Evidence the prosecutor refused to use is evidence that Dwight should be exonerated.

I want to alert everyone about what’s happening in Dwight Celestine’s case: 7 attorneys, 4 judges, 4 arrest, excessive bail and fees, deprivation of pproperty, freedom and liberty and still no one assigned, trial looming, and the public defender system remains silent.

Many assume our State Senator can’t help because “they don’t have jurisdiction in the courtroom.” That’s misleading. What they do have is the legal authority and duty to oversee state funded agencies, demand transparency, and advocate when constitutional rights are being violated.

Louisiana law makes it clear that although a State Representative cannot interfere with a judge’s ruling, they DO have authority and responsibility to address what is happening in Dwight Celestine’s case docket #173328 in the 15JDC

Here is the legal proof:

Louisiana House Rule 6.8

“Standing committees of the House shall conduct oversight of state agencies and operations funded by the state.”

The Public Defender Office is a state-funded agency.

La. R.S. 15:147(A)

The Louisiana Public Defender Board “is subject to legislative oversight.”

This means legislators CAN ask why Dwight has no attorney, request accountability, and demand explanations.

Louisiana Constitution Article III

The Legislature is responsible for “protecting the rights of the people of Louisiana.”

Denial of counsel is a constitutional rights violation.

La. R.S. 24:513

Legislators can request audits or investigations into any state-funded agency, including the Public Defender Office.

So YES, a representative CAN address Dwight’s situation.

No, they cannot overturn a judge, but they CAN:

• Demand transparency

• Request investigations

• Contact the Public Defender Board

• Contact the District Attorney

• Hold oversight hearings

• Raise civil rights concerns

• Advocate for a constituent being denied counsel

WE NEED YOUR HELP AND WE CALL TO ACTION YOUR REPRESENTATION AS CONSTITUENTS.
