Being white versus black

Let’s talk about white privilege and how it shows up when lives are taken.

When Ta’Kiya Young, a pregnant Black woman, was killed by police, she was immediately painted as a criminal. Her actions were dissected. Her character was attacked. Her death was justified before the evidence was even released.

Now a white woman is killed by an ICE agent, and the narrative is different. She is described as interfering. Authorities ask for patience. The agent is protected. Her humanity is not questioned, and neither is her past.

Same outcome. A woman dead.

Different response. Who gets blamed.

This is the privilege.

Not being scrutinized.

Not being criminalized.

Not having your death justified by default.

If the claims about Ta’Kiya Young were wrong, and the video proved they were, then we should not blindly accept official narratives now either.

Justice requires skepticism, transparency, and equal accountability, no matter the race.
